SELLING SEL AT YOUR SCHOOL: Create an Effective SEL Program That Will Transform Your School

JC Shakespeare  jcshakespearelpc@gmail.com

POWER POINT from my presentation at the American School Counselors Association (ASCA) national conference on July 1, 2014, in Orlando. (Note on Videos: I could not upload any of the videos I used in the presentation that were not on YouTube. (Videos on Rachel’s Challenge and Second Step). When you see a black screen on a slide, please just go to the next slide.)

These are resources that I used to create this presentation, and that I used in the creation of our SEL program at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic School in Austin, Texas.

SEL Implementation Plan (Google Document)   CLICK HERE to access the document. (“Select All” and “Copy,” then paste into Google Docs or MS Word to create your own individualized copy.)

The best overall website for SEL resources is www.casel.org.  In the near future, CASEL will publish an online SchoolKit that will give you step-by-step instruction on how to create an SEL program for your school or district. You can send them an email through the website to ask to be notified when the SchoolKit is ready.
